MATTHEW HENDRY
Matthew Hendry brings to the bar a decade of structured legal and commercial experience, derived from roles in prosecution and in-house business operations.
Before joining the independent bar, he served as a Senior Legal Officer at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions (Qld) and led marketing and compliance functions for national agribusiness Native Angus Beef Pty Ltd. His Master of Laws (Intellectual Property) at QUT included coursework in collaboration with the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) Academy, informing a practice that bridges rights, risk and practical decision-making across jurisdictions.
Matthew appears in the District and Supreme Courts of Queensland, with a focus on commercial disputes, personal injuries, regulatory matters and serious criminal proceedings.
Outside practice, Matthew is a long-time supporter of theatre and comedy. He performed in law revue, edited the satirical law-school magazine Obiter, and regularly competed in the Queensland Young Lawyers’ Golden Gavel - winning the People’s Choice Award in 2019.
