SEAN LAMB
Sean was called to the Queensland bar in April 2017. Since then, he has appeared in trials and appeals in State and Federal Courts throughout Australia. Sean is member of the Queensland and New South Wales Bar Associations.
He accepts briefs in a wide variety of civil disputes, in a wide variety of legal practice areas. He has experience in criminal-law matters as well. Sean considers the skill of a barrister is to advise upon and present a case, following detailed analysis and legal research, and is not limited to a particular practice area. Sean has found practising in multiple areas fulfilling for the past eight (8) years.
He has completed the Advocacy Workshop (Sydney) run by the Australian Advocacy Institute and the Trial Advocacy Intensive (Sydney) run by the Australian Bar Association.
Sean had an unconventional journey to the law. His previous studies (Bachelor of Science (Psychology)), his previous work in major tertiary teaching hospitals in Brisbane, in the fitness to practice directorate of the nursing and midwifery regulator in London, and in a management position at the now Queensland Children’s Hospital, have given him a unique ability to appreciate individual, corporate and government clients’ circumstances. After completing his Bachelor of Laws (Hons), Sean was a graduate in a boutique criminal defence firm and then a solicitor doing civil litigation work (at a mid-tier firm), for a short time, before commencing practise as a barrister at the independent bar.
For his first six (6) years at the bar, Sean was a tutor at the Queensland University of Technology and Griffith University. A number of his past students completed work experience and part-time employment in Sean's chambers, which afforded him the opportunity to mentor them as future members of the profession.
Sean is a member of the Court of Appeal’s panel of pro bono barristers, and volunteers at evening advice sessions at a community legal centre.
Sean is the co-founder of Carson Chambers, responsible for its day-to-day operation.
